Summary

This position paper states that it is important that the various organs of the Jordanian state take these challenges into account when designing and implementing policies concerning the labor market; that they reconsider the provisions of the laws concerning the establishment of trade unions and permit workers to organize freely among themselves for the protection of their mutual rights and interests; that they take action towards expanding and improving the national social security system; and that they work to better protect workers’ rights (such as health insurance),notably by enforcing compliance with relevant labor laws.
