The Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Assessment (CSFVA) 218 builds on previous Comprehensive Food Security and Monitoring Exercises (CFSME) carried out by WFP and REACH in 214,215 and 216 with the aim of providing a nationwide understanding of the food security of Syrian refugees residing in the camps and host communities. These assessments enabled the humanitarian community to understand how contextual changes,including levels of assistance,has affected the food security of Syrian refugees in Jordan facing protracted displacement.

For the first time,the 218 CFSVA also includes findings from refugees of other nationalities (Iraqi,Yemeni,Sudanese and Somali),Palestinian refugees from Syria and vulnerable Jordanians. The 218 CFSVA therefore serves as a baseline for these other populations of interest. In total,7,171 households were interviewed for the assessment,with data collection carried out between April and May 218.

The aim of the findings of the CFSVA is to inform WFP and partners’ programming based on identification of the characteristics of the people in greatest need of assistance and to contribute to the building of information on Syrian refugees,non-Syrian refugees,PRS and vulnerable Jordanians for future evidence-based programming.
