This report aims to review the status of children in Greater Amman and to conduct a capacity assessment of key institutions addressing children’s issues. Various issues are examined;; covering areas such as health;; education;; and socio-economic characteristics. This report also reviews the status of disadvantaged children;; including working children;; orphans;; refugees;; and children with disabilities;; in order to identify vulnerabilities and risk factors specific to them. Finally;; this report assesses the capacity of selected institutions addressing children’s issues in Greater Amman and proposes phased capacity building programs based on the findings of the assessment.

The migrant worker in Jordan situation report was issued in 2009. It presents an overview of the situation of migrant workers in Jordan and the main violations they are subject to. Additionally;; the report offers recommendations to national and international parties concerned with the migrant workers' rights.

This report is designed to trace the status of girls and women in Jordan. The main themes are: civic rights;; legal rights;; women political participation;; education;; participation in the labour market;; health;; reproductive health;; child protection;; domestic violence;; HIV/AIDS and treaties.

يهدف التقرير إلى عرض أهم مشاكل حقوق الإنسان في الأردن;; والتي كان ابرزها: سوء المعاملة ومزاعم التعذيب من قبل مسؤولي الأمن والحكومة مع الإفلات من العقاب;; والقيود المفروضة على حرية التعبير التي تحد من قدرة المواطنين ووسائل الإعلام في انتقاد السياسات والمسؤولين الحكوميين;; وشملت أيضاً ظروف السجن السيئة والاعتقال التعسفي والحرمان من المحاكمة العادلة من خلال الاعتقال الإداري;; والاحتجاز لفترات طويلة;; ومزاعم من المحسوبية ونفوذ المصالح الخاصة على القضاء. واستمرت الحكومة في التعدي على حقوق الخصوصية للمواطنين. وكان العنف ضد المرأة منتشراً على نطاق واسع;; واستمرار الاعتداء على الأطفال. والى جانب انه لا يزال التمييز القانوني والمجتمعي والمضايقات تمثل مشكلة بالنسبة للمرأة. وكان التمييز ضد الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة مشكلة. وظل التمييز القانوني والمجتمعي ضد الأشخاص من أصل فلسطيني واسع النطاق. وذكر التقرير أن الحكومة قيدت حقوق العمال ومنظمات حقوق الإنسان المحلية والدولية على مستويات عالية من إساءة معاملة خدم المنازل الأجانب. ولقد كانت المواضيع الرئيسية في هذا التقرير هي: الحق في العمل;; الحق في الخصوصية والحق في التعليم;; والتمييز العنصري;; والتمييز ضد المرأة;; والحق في حرية التنقل;; والحق في حرية التعبير;; والحق في حرية تكوين الجمعيات;; والحق في حرية الدين ;; والعنف;; وعمالة الأطفال;; الحق في محاكمة عادلة;; الحق في المشاركة;; الحق في الضمان الاجتماعي.

This report was compiled from the findings and case studies presented at a workshop held on 5-6 December 2004;; in Cairo Egypt. This report contains an overview on global trends and regional analyses;; implementing legislated quotas for women;; quota adopted by political parties;; methods on enhance women’s participation;; and the role of the international community and international instruments. The international IDEA had convened a series of regional workshops to gather qualitative data. The report also has 6 case studies about women’s participation and quota include comparative experiences with quotas;; address the culture challenges to women’s representation in the Arab world;; and point the opportunities that could be seized in order to meet those challenges.

This annual report comes to diagnose the situation of human rights in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2010;; and to point out the positive or negative changes that have occurred during that period. The report comprises the outcome of the accumulated experiences of the Center in the field of protecting civil;; political;; economic;; social and cultural rights. It also comprises a qualitative addition represented in the devotion of an axis related to the assessment of how serious the Government is in taking appropriate legislative;; judicial and executive measures needed to implement the recommendations by the treaty committees. The main themes are: Civil and Political Rights;; Economic;; Social and Cultural Rights;; Women's Rights;; Child Rights;; Rights of Persons with Disability;; Rights of the Elderly. The report proposes legislations;; policies and measures that are believed to contribute to changing the current situation of Human Rights for the better;; especially in the light of the rapid developments taking place in the Arab region.

يوثّق التقرير الانتهاكات القائمة بحق عاملات المنازل;; وإخفاق المسؤولين الأردنيين في محاسبة أرباب العمل ومكاتب الاستقدام التي تستقدم العاملات. كما ينتقد التقرير قوانين الهجرة وقوانين العمل المنزلي التي تيسّر وقوع الانتهاكات;; من قبيل تحديد الإقامة قسراً في البيت وفرض غرامات على تجاوز مدد الإقامة القانونية;; حتى إن لم تكن العاملة هي السبب في التجاوز.

دراسة مسحية استطلاعية حول واقع المرأة في الأحزاب السياسية الأردنية. وهذه الدراسة المسحية كانت من شقين: توزيع استبانة على عينة تضم 113 حزبية ينتمين الى 17 حزبا من أصل 35 حزباً سياسياً;; واجراء مقابلات مع عدد من الحزبيات حول واقع مشاركة المرأة في الأحزاب والمعيقات التي تواجهها. وفيما يتعلق بالجانب النظري للدراسة فإنه يستعرض المرأة في برامج الأحزاب السياسية الأردنية;; وشمل ذلك المرأة في ادبيات 18 حزباً من مختلف الاتجاهات. وقد أظهرت النتائج ضعف تمثيل المرأة في الاحزاب لعدة عوامل سياسية واجتماعية واقتصادية اضافة إلى عوامل تتعلق بالمراة ذاتها. وكما قدمت الدراسة مجموعة من التوصيات وكانت على أربعة مستويات: المجتمع الاردني;; والحكومة الأردنية;; والأحزاب الأردنية;; والمرأة نفسها.
