The objectives of this manual are to serve as a tool for individual self-learning or group training on gender-related terminology and foundational concepts, as well as to provide resources contextualized with the sociocultural and historical specificities of the Arab world, including the contributions of local women’s movements. The manual aims to meet the needs of diverse audiences by utilizing a wide range of learning techniques and exercises grouped thematically and to deepen understanding of the strategies and tools used to change gender roles and expectations that are unfair, unsafe, discriminatory, or otherwise constrain equal opportunities.
