SIGI: : Cybercrimes has forced many women to deliberately reduce their online appearance

Summary

This article addresses the impact of cybercrime on women's apperance on internet, where females constitute 47% of the number of individuals in Jordan using the Internet. The article also adresses the findings of the UN report on violence against women issued in July 2018. It shows that 3% of women around the world reported that they have been subjected to abuse or harassment on the Internet at least once in their lives, and that one out of 10 women has experienced some form of violence on the Internet since the age of 15 years. As a result, 28% of women who have experienced violence on the Internet have deliberately reduce their use of the Internet.
