This press release addresses the summary of the media assessment conducted by the Information and Research Center – King Hussein Foundation of seven written and visual media platforms. This assessment shows a widening gap in gender balance in the monitored private and public media platforms and presents a set of recommendations. The study indicates that women have been underrepresented compared to men; 15%, 85% respectively. The percentage of gender and women related news did not exceed 6% in the first quarter compared to gender-neutral or men related news.
