Summary

This rapid assessment of tensions between Jordanian host communities and Syrian refugees in north Jordan looks at reasons for differences in tensions between the two cities as well as strengths that the two cities have in mitigating the tensions. Tensions in Ramtha are not as apparent as tensions in Mafraq,as most Syrians in Ramtha share tribal ties with the Jordanian residents. However,in both places, housing and rent prices have increased dramatically and caused friction between Syrians and Jordanians.
