The Jordan National Commission for Women was founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal in 1992 and has been responsible for many important steps forward in advancing women's rights and gender equality. Throughout this paper,the efforts of the JNCW are described,including efforts to increase women's participation in Parliament. This paper also describes JNCWs extended efforts to work with establish government institutions to further implement the Jordanian National Strategy for Women.
