The assessment report is a final product of the Asia and Middle East Economic Growth Best Practices project (AMEG);; which is designed to support USAID missions in developing effective and efficient economic growth programs that address technical and strategic challenges. The report provides an introduction to Jordan's macroeconomic performance and structure and examines the field assessment's key lines of inquiry such as fiscal environment;; taxation;; customs and trade facilitation;; the energy sector;; policy analysis and political economic environment. It identifies the structure and performance of each inquiry and adds policy;; administrative;; and institutional environment;; and its challenges and opportunities.The report's concluding section outlines key challenges and opportunities;; and offers recommendations. Some of the findings include Jordan's lack of robust forum for soliciting and integrating input on economic policy issues from key stakeholders or the wider public and lack of institutional capacity to develop macroeconomic models. The report suggests facilitating national dialogue and consensus building on economic policy issues and building capacity to integrate stakeholder input.

The report aims to provide an executive summary and major results and accomplishments;; lessons learned and challenges and opportunities of the Jordan Healthcare Accreditation Project (JHAP). The overall goal of the JHAP was to improve the health status of all Jordanians and quality and safety of healthcare services through accreditation. The project's methodology was assisting the Government of Jordan to adopt a regulatory framework for the health sector;; through the establishment of national and internationally recognized healthcare standards and accreditation. The key results of the project include an organizationally and financially sustainable accrediting agency in Jordan;; the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC);; an HCAC board with the appropriate skills to govern the agency and support from the Ministry of Health;; the Royal Medical Services;; the university hospitals;; and the Royal Court for accreditation. The report concludes with recommendations for the HCAC in areas such as financial sustainability;; credibility of the organization;; keeping the momentum and new business development and innovation. Some opportunities that the report suggests include expanding in the Middle East and North Africa region;; partnering with well-known quality organizations;; offering courses online and benchmarking subscriptions.

This report consists of eight chapters and aims to summarise the key concepts of human development. It introduces the Human Development Index;; provides an overview of Jordan's human development achievements;; examines the regional vulnerability context that has constrained Jordan's options in its pursuit of social and economic development;; provides a platform for the poor to express their views and perceptions in relation to their poverty status;; reviews the policies;; institutions and processes that affect the poor;; examines the government's attempts to stimulate entrepreneurialism;; promotes the application of a rights-based approach;; in which all citizen are equally empowered and have the capacity and the appropriate enabling environment that allows them to claim their entitlements according to law. Finally;; the study examines the various reform initiatives in progress and assesses the extent to which Jordan is committed to the process.

This study sheds light on opportunities available to women in the field of leadership and decision- making in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It explores the main challenges impeding women's advancement;; especially the debate over the role of the Provisional Election Law for 2010 in achieving the concepts of citizenship;; and equal opportunities for all male and female Jordanians. In order to answer the research questions;; the study analyzed historical and legal documents.

The final report is a product of the USAID/ Jordan's 55-month Operations and Maintenance Training (OMT) Program that enhances workers and organizational performance in water infrastructure. The report includes the OMT Program's executive summary;; key accomplishments and lessons learned and recommended actions;; and it also identifies some the contexts;; challenges;; methodology and results and impacts of improving the operator standards and performance. According to the report;; the OMT exceeded its expectations and achieved all results in regards to the number of certified operators;; managers;; trainers;; developers;; and coaches graduated;; certified programs;; courses and tests developed;; training sessions conducted;; and legal measures and institutional actions enacted. The report identifies hat the dedicated and hands-on support of OMT's primary partners was a key factor in achieving the OMT target results. The program also expects the structure of the Jordan program will be responsive to changing needs and the progressive development of training capacity within the Jordanian water sector. Following the OMT's completion;; the players in the Jordanian program will continue to build their capacities and move to the next state in their institutional arrangement.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن التحديات التي تواجه النساء الأردنيات المتزوجات من رجال غير أردنيين وأبناءهن أيضاً. وتشمل الدراسة على تحلييل التكاليف والمنافع المترتبة على منح الإقامة والحقوق المدنية لهذه الفئة;; وذلك بهدف توفير صورة دقيقة لصانعي القرار لمعالجة غياب المساواة من وجهة نظر اقتصادية. وبشكل منفصل تسلط الدراسة الضوء على أثر حرمان أبناء تلك الأسر من هذه الحقوق;; وتحديداً ما يتعلق في شعورهم بالإنتماء. وكانت منهجية الدراسة مزيجاً من البحثين النوعي والكمي. وبلغ حجم العينة في المسح الكمي 230 رجل أردني متزوج من امرأة غير أردنية;; و210 امرأة أردنية متزوجة من رجل غير أردني في كل من: الزرقاء;; العقبة;; سحاب;; مادبا البلقاء.
