Gender Auditing in the Public Sector in Jordan
This study aims at developing the reality of gender mainstreaming in the public sector in Jordan with its various institutions and developing a set of appropriate recommendations. The study aimed to identify the reality of gender mainstreaming in the public sector in Jordan,in its various institutions from ministries,departments,Gender as well as the percentage of representation of males and females in the career ladder of the public sector in Jordan and the gaps in recruitment and promotion. The results of the study are: - Female concentration is high in executive positions as employees with no supervisory or leadership posts,in governorates and first class,then in ministries,institutions and government departments. There are also statistically significant differences in the percentage of female representation in the professional staff among institutions Which have gender or women units,and other official institutions that do not have such units.
