Summary
Gender-based violence is one of the most widespread violations of human rights in the world, affecting women and girls in particular, across various contexts and social and cultural classes. In Jordan, as in other contexts, a set of root factors — such as gender inequality, discriminatory social norms, and imbalances of power — contribute to the occurrence and persistence of this violence in its various forms.
