Navigating Return: Motivations, decision-making processes, and emotional responses among Egyptian migrants in Jordan

Navigating Return: Motivations, decision-making processes, and emotional responses among Egyptian migrants in Jordan
Summary

This case study focuses on return migration, specifically exploring the experiences of Egyptian migrants who had
lived in Jordan. Despite the initially perceived temporariness of their migration, a number of Egyptians establish
long-term residency in Jordan. However, the lack of active integration efforts and citizenship opportunities leads
to their eventual return to Egypt. Drawing on interviews with Egyptian returnees, this case study addresses
motivations for repatriation.
