Workers on the lowest ground: The challenges for both the Egyptian migrants in the Jordan Valley and for the Jordanian civic space
Summary

This project focuses on the challenges faced by Egyptian agricultural migrant workers in Jordan's Jordan Valley. Despite their critical role in the agricultural sector, these workers encounter numerous hardships, including exploitation under the Kafala system, hazardous working conditions, and lack of access to basic rights and social protections. The project aims to empower these workers by enhancing their institutional, advocacy, and technical capacities, promoting better coordination, and leveraging informal networks and non-governmental organizations for support and advocacy. The ultimate goal is to ensure sustainable development and improve the living and working conditions of these vulnerable laborers.
