As part of the project &quot;<a href="http://irckhf.org/en/project/mathlouma-removing-honor-crimes-honor-2009… Removing Honor from Crimes of Honor</a>&quot;, a project funded by the European Instrument for Human Rights (EIDHR) at the <a href="http://irckhf.org/en/organization/european-commission-ec">European Commission</a>, a video explaining the contexts and the causes of honor crimes or honour crimes. &nbsp;The views of economist Dr. Yousef Mansour and sociologist Dr. Musa Shteiwi attempt to interpret the drive to commit the specific nature of crimes against women widespread in Jordan. &nbsp;Honor Crimes are considered to be common forms of violence against women or gender-based violence (GBV) in Jordan. &nbsp;Dr Yousef Mansour, a well-known economist, suggests a strong correlation between honor crimes and poverty. While the social expert Dr. Musa Shteiwi considered social pressure as the primary reason in committing honor crimes. &nbsp;Dr. Shteiwi presumes that the societal pressure on the family may be &quot;greater than the pressure the family can face&quot; and hence result in murder of the woman. &nbsp;
