Street Harassment in Cairo: A Symptom of Disintegrating Social Structures

Summary

This article maps the increasingly common phenomenon of street harassment in Cairo onto a history of Egyptian patriarchy. Peoples' argues that street harassment is reflective of the frustration and difficulties men face in performing their gender roles in a society with a high unemployment rate. She argues that,as patriarchy changes in Egypt,street harassment increases.
