Economist Dr. Yousef Mansour highlights the statistics of the phenomena known as honor crimes or honour crimes. &nbsp;Honor Crimes are a type of Gender-based Violence (GBV) and are widespread in Jordan. &nbsp;Dr. Mansour explains the relationship between crime, poverty, low educational level, unemployment, and persecution as the conditions and suitable social environment to foster such crimes. &nbsp;This is part of the project &quot;<a href="http://irckhf.org/en/project/mathlouma-removing-honor-crimes-honor-2009… Removing Honor from Crimes of Honor</a>&quot; and is funded by the European Instrument for Human Rights (EIDHR) at the <a href="http://irckhf.org/en/organization/european-commission-ec">European Commission</a>.
