Social Justice in the Arab World
This report,published by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA),addresses the concept of social justice as it exists within the Arab World. The report examines the evolution of the concept of social justice within the region and assesses the level of social justice and injustice in the Arab World. This assessment addresses the fields of economic growth and development,demographics and human development,growth inclusiveness and equality of opportunity,food security and access to basic needs,and governance frameworks and the role of the state. The report concludes with recommendations on how to advance the principle of social justice in the Arab World more broadly,and how to institutionalize the social justice framework in the Arab World more specifically.
