“Improving Access to Gender-Based Violence Services for Women and Girls with Disabilities”

Summary
This study highlights the issue of gender-based violence among women and girls with
disabilities. These individuals face increased risks of violence due to the intersection
of gender and disability, which results in increased social stigma, isolation and
discrimination. Women and girls with disabilities are more vulnerable to various forms
of abuse, including physical, sexual, and emotional violence, with domestic violence
being the most prevalent.
