Jordanian Youth.. Perceptions and Engagement in Human Rights
This study provides an understanding of the perceptions, attitudes, awareness, and participation of Jordanian youth regarding human rights, focusing on freedom of expression, gender equality, detention without trial, and torture. The findings reveal broad support for gender equality and freedom of expression, alongside concerns about self-censorship and government intervention, particularly in central and southern regions. The study highlights gaps in knowledge and trust in human rights institutions, with greater awareness of national organisations compared to international ones, and shows variations in participation by gender, geographic location, and socioeconomic status. It recommends enhancing human rights education and developing programs to engage youth in a safe and effective manner.
