Annual Report: New Partnerships for Development PDF file screenshot
Summary

This is the 213-214 annual report from the United Nations Development Program, which supports progress that is sustainable, inclusive, and resilient to setbacks in all five regions of the developing world. The 213-214 Annual Report spotlights results from actions across core dimensions of development, from jobs and food security,to well-run elections,to crisis recovery,to the management of finite natural resources. All efforts aim at one overarching and increasingly achievable goal: to help countries eradicate poverty and significantly reduce inequalities. The report showcases UNDP’s diverse partnerships, which are vital to all their efforts, and it more than ever focuses on collaboration that taps rich experience in the global South. Highlights of this report include: the declining of poverty and malnutrition in Niger; the protection of human rights by Tunisia’s new Constitution; the new measures to reduce vulnerability in the Philippines; Kazakhstan’s transition to a green economy through renewable energy; and new measures (including job creation and gun control) to tackle the roots of pervasive violence in El Salvador.
