Report of the Statistical Committee on its Tenth Session
The Statistical Committee of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) held its tenth session at the headquarters of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Cairo on 3 and 31 January 213.
The agenda of this session contained several topics of priority,including: the implications of meetings held by global and regional agencies on the work program of the Statistics Division,and capacity-building in the field of statistics for developing evidence-based policies. The agenda also included items related to the progress made in statistics-related activities since the ninth session of the Statistical Committee,and the proposed program of work for the biennium 214-215 in the field of statistics and the calendar of statistics-related activities for 213.
The session also addressed several topics of priority in the region,including international cooperation and regional partnerships with relevant organizations,in addition to prospective projects and initiatives in the field of statistics.
This report contains an overview of the recommendations made by the Committee at the end of its session.
