Euromed Intercultural Trends 2010: The Anna Lindh Report
The Anna Lindh Foundation published this 21 report in order to provide scientific knowledge of intercultural trends in the Euro-Mediterranean area and to investigate the factors lying behind these trends' evolution. The report is based upon a public opinion survey among thirteen countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region, examining such topics as regional interactions, interest in the events of surrounding countries, shared values and mutual perceptions, varying visions for the future Mediterranean region, and attitudes toward cultural and religious diversity as well as intercultural dialogue. The report aims to serve as a tool in ultimately addressing the particular issues in education, intercultural relations, and media rhetoric that have undermined and weakened the institutional and ideological aspects of previous attempts to build a Union for the two Mediterranean shores. The Anna Lindh Report is divided in four main parts: ‘Inside the Opinion Poll’ (including quantitative analysis by Gallup); ‘Expert Analysis and Good Practices’ (including articles by experts); ‘Media Thematic Focus’ (including national case-studies by media experts) and ‘Conclusions’ (including proposals for action).
