UNICEF Annual Report 2013
The UNICEF Annual Report 213 outlines UNICEF’s efforts to reach the children around the world who have gone unreached. It also outlines UNICEF’s efforts to drive change for the most vulnerable, disadvantaged and excluded children. As these children continue to be deprived, abused, exploited and denied a voice, their rights continue to be unfulfilled. For far too many children,213 either brought no change at all,or it brought violent change. Disparities – among children from rich and poor countries and communities, among children from rural and urban environments, among children from different ethnic groups – remain high. A new Strategic Plan has been put into place in order to guide the equity-focused work across all of UNICEF’s priorities: child health,HIV and AIDS,water, sanitation and hygiene, nutrition, education, child protection and social inclusion – and cross-cutting issues like gender and early childhood development.
