Summary
This report is a chapter in Women's Rights in the Middle East and North Africa: Progress Amid Resistance,published by Freedom House. It provides a history of the women's rights movement in Jordan and analyzes the movement's gains,as well as the hindrances the movement has faced. The report is divided into several gender-based human rights issues,including nondiscrimination and access to justice; autonomy,security,and freedom of the person; economic rights and equal opportunity; political rights and civic voice; and social and cultural rights. The report also includes recommendations for forward movement on each of the aforementioned human rights frontiers.
