This article and video tell the story of Mohammed Sharaf who does not have the right to work in Jordan because his father is not Jordanian, even though his mother is Jordanian and he was born and raised in Jordan. He does not have Jordanian citizenship, and his Jordanian mother does not have the right to pass on her citizenship to him. The article explains that this is a normal occurrence for those living in Jordan whose mothers are Jordanian but whose fathers are foreign. It goes on to discuss the first coalition of women and men fighting for women's citizenship rights, called "My citizenship is the right of my family".
