UN Women Annual Report 2013-2014
The Annual Report documents UN Women’s work to foster women’s empowerment and gender equality around the world. It highlights some of the organization’s initiatives during the year and provides summary financial statements,a list of new programs and projects,and contact information. It discusses UN Women's support of UN Member States as they set global standards for achieving gender equality,and it also discusses UN Women's work with governments and civil society to design laws,policies,programs and services needed to implement these standards. UN Women stands behind women’s equal participation in all aspects of life,focusing on five priority areas: increasing women’s leadership and participation; ending violence against women; engaging women in all aspects of peace and security processes; enhancing women’s economic empowerment; and making gender equality central to national development planning and budgeting.
