Children in Jordan Situation Analysis 2006/2007
As a report to the situation analysis of children and women in Jordan,it aims to identify problems,vulnerabilities and positive developments of the country’s obligations to the Convention on the Rights of the Child standards and the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. The report establishes research and planning priorities for the programmes in Jordan regarding survival,development,protection and participation of women and children. By updating the trends monitoring base for the ongoing and relevant projects of the UN agencies,the situation analysis identifies recommendations to the challenges of children and women in Jordan. According to the general overview of the report,Jordan has progressively improved in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and improving its human development index. The analysis includes the National Council of Family Affairs’ study on disadvantaged children to take into account of the diversity of conditions affecting different socioeconomic groups and locations.
